JaiYoga - Yoga classes for all abilities in West Sussex
About me

Hi I'm Donna and I'm a long time practioner of yoga and a 500 hour Yoga Alliance-certified yoga teacher in the Horsham area of West Sussex.  I enjoy and am inspired by many styles of yoga including vinyasa flow, Iyengar, Jivamukti, Astanga, Sivananda, Bikram and continue to take workshops and other teacher training modules with other great teachers. I feel very privileged to have been the student of many inspirational yoga teachers including Ruth White (who was herself a direct student of Iyengar), Shiva Rea, and Sharon Gannon and David Life (founders of Jivamukti Yoga). I draw this inspiration from the many styles and teachers into my classes, according to the needs of my students.

I'm also a keen dancer and am currently working with the Just Jhoom! team to add Bollywood-style dance to my teaching repertoire.

Why Yoga?

Yoga is a great complementary exercise to other sports. It's a gentle way of stretching, strengthening, toning up and increasing your general feeling of calm and well-being. All abilities are catered for in my classes, whether you are a total beginner or have done a lot of yoga before. I have done yoga through two pregnancies myself, so pregnant and post-natal ladies are welcome and well cared-for. Class sizes are small to enable lots of attention per student. I am also available for private lessons.

Why 'JaiYoga'?

'Jai' is the word for 'celebrate' or an expression like 'yay!' in Sanskrit, the language of the ancient yogis, and it expresses how I feel about yoga - I love it! I feel that yoga helps us to become the very best people that we can be. Come along and try a class or come to our Open Day and Launch Party on Oct 2nd 2010 - your first class is always free. Hopefully you will love it too!
