Am currently totally blissing out in the after-vibes of an amazing alignment of events this weekend. I have been feeling a bit jangly this week in the lead up to this evening's full moon (and it will also be a “blue moon”, being the third of four full moons in the same season). And I know I'm not alone in this! So I have dedicated a little more time this week to attending yoga classes myself as well as teaching. My teacher Ruth always says that it's important to take time out as a teacher and enjoy the introversion that being a student allows, so that has been a lovely treat this week. And events on Friday evening and yesterday were like the icing on that very lovely cake. On Friday evening I went to a Voice Circle hosted by Narayani. Narayani is a devotional singer and voicework facilitator (and my harmonium teacher too!) at the Brighton Natural Health Centre. We sang a little kirtan (Om Namo Narayanaya), learnt the Indian scale and played with connecting with our voice and expressing ourselves and connecting with others through it. Gratitude to Narayani for facilitating the wonderful evening and to all the other lovely singers who I connected with. I floated home on the the lovely peaceful vibes. I then floated up to Yoga Ananda in Reigate on Saturday morning for a day's immersion into bhakti yoga, devotional yoga, the yoga of song and chant. The event was a workshop with Lila Cohen and Sean Shokat who are Illumina, performers and bhakti yogis. We had the most wonderful day, singing and chanting for peace, healing and abundance. At the end of it, none of us wanted to move. It was a truly beautiful day and the perfect antidote to a week of feeling a bit jangly! Here's hoping that this evening's full moon will be as beautiful as the last one - this photo of the last one was taken by local Horsham photographer Chris Newberry.
